About GBCI's Refugee Support
A Beloved Community is a community where immigrants and refugees can thrive, living a safe, healthy and productive life.

In 2025, all federal funding for refugee resettlement was cut, leaving local communities to carry the responsibility of meeting critical needs. As a result, the demand has grown dramatically—in February, NNIA received three times more requests for help than in January. More families are reaching out, and more organizations are referring people for support, stretching resources to the limit.

How you can support?
In partnership with the New Neighbors Interfaith Alliance (NNIA), GBCI supports refugee and asylum-seeking families as they rebuild their lives in Montgomery County. Since 2019, hundreds of families have received help navigating housing, employment, education, and immigration systems, as well as building a sense of belonging in a new country.
